Abstract. The evaluation of yielding and nutritional value of eight tomato cultivars grown in plastic tunnel by the stakes were carried out in 2003-2005. The highest marketable and I^st grade fruit yields were obtained from ‘Atletico F₁’ followed by ‘Frisby F₁’ and ‘WS 4028’ cvs. ‘Atletico F₁’ contained the highest amount of dry matter, while ‘Delfine F₁’ – total and reducing sugars. Fruit of ‘Merkury F₁’ and ‘Climaks F₁’ cvs. can be appreciated for the high level of vitamin C content.

Summary

In the experiment conducted in 2003-2005 yielding and nutritional value of 8 tomato cultivars were compared. The highest suitability for growing in plastic tunnel by the stakes showed ‘Atletico F₁’ – characterized by the highest marketable and Ist grade fruit yields. High fruit yield was also obtained from ‘Frisby F₁’ and ‘WS 4028’ cvs. The least valuable among the tested cultivars were ‘Merkury F₁’ and ‘Lasso F₁’. Fruit of ‘Atletico F₁’ contained the highest amount of dry matter, while ‘Delfine F₁’ – total and reducing sugars. Fruit of ‘Merkury F₁’ and ‘Climaks F₁’ cvs. can be appreciated for the high level of vitamin C content.
